The Mirowski Symposium began in 1989 to honor the pioneering work of Dr. Michel Mirowski in the development of the implantable cardioverter defibrillator. The Mirowski Award for Excellence in Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology is given annually to recognize an individual who has made a fundamental contribution to the understanding and / or treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. This year’s symposium marks the 22nd presentation of the Mirowski Award and will focus on the pioneering vision and innovative strategies that will shape and advance the role of electrophysiology and clinical cardiology in 2010 and beyond.
