Dauod, MD and antagonist Alan Cheng, MD defended the pro’s and con’s to using intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) in transseptal catheterization procedures. The learning objectives from this debate are to identify one advantage and disadvantage of an Echocardiography guided transseptal puncture; identify one advantage and disadvantage of Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) guided transseptal puncture; and to determine the role of ICE during transseptal catheterization.
